Investing in a designer is no small thing, and finding the right designer is an absolute must! The search can definitely be intimidating, there are so many of us out there, but knowing the right places look will take the pressure off.

Here are my top 4 places to find a high-quality designer for your branding and website needs!

Referrals:

The first place I suggest looking for a high quality designer is through referrals from other entrepreneurs. Seeing their work and hearing a testimonial from someone you know can be so helpful! You can also ask on Instagram for suggestions from your followers if you don’t have anyone you know to ask! I really recommend doing this so you have someone who has gone through the process with that designer and has had a good experience.

Facebook Groups:

While Facebook groups can be extremely oversaturated, they are also full of qualified people, you just have to search for them! My tip is to not post your #jobopp but instead ask a question regarding web design and sift through the responses to find someone you like. This way you aren’t bombarded with designers reaching out to you, but instead, you choose from a much smaller pool. Ask someone like “Looking for a web designer’s point of view, what website hosting platform is your favorite?”

Instagram:

Instagram is a great place to find designers! Search through hashtags and follow the accounts that align with your style, this will give you some time to get to know their brand see some of their work! I suggest reaching out and starting the conversation to see if their communication style matches yours. You can also check out their clients and really investigate their websites before making a choice.

Your favorite websites:

This one is obvious but effective! We all have inspiration websites, if you can’t find someone that you feel comfortable hiring, reach out on their site and see if they will share with you their designer! This way you already know the designer can capture your vision and you can show them exactly what you liked from the other site for inspiration!

Keep in mind that once you find someone you like the next step to take is to jump on a (hopefully, free) discovery call and see if your vision aligns and that their process works for you. These calls are a must when trying to land on a designer, you want to talk to at least two before making a choice!
